Guru Goodwin is a 2007 & 2008 USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee, a recognized knife expert by Grand Master Roberto Presas and as a Blade Man by BaPak Willem de Thouars. The knife being one of his weapons of personal choice adds to the in depth instruction. His knowledge and specialized skills in Philippine and Javanese blade are an interesting blend and thought process.
You don't want to "get the point" when it comes to using your blade.
My teachings come from men who have fought for their lives numerous times and the knowledge is from the era of world war 2 and older. Their whole families had to fight for their lives. As for me I wanted to know the ways of those whom I respect and did it for real because they had to and not because they wanted to make a buck. I have had to fight for my life a few times and have actually trained in the Philippines. I have the respect of these men and their families.
I consider them to be my family. I have the greatest respect for my teachers and the cultures they came from. Let me share the art and the culture with you. Knowledge is a powerful thing. Become powerful by gaining knowledge.
